"This is a mural that tells the story of our community," said the Senator, "and at the same time it becomes part of that story."
He praised local artist Maria Dominguez for her work with the students. "Ms. Dominguez is a brilliant artist who finds the time and the passion to share her talents with others."
The Senator, ranking member of the Senate Tourism, Recreation and Sports Development Committee, said that murals help breath new life into our communities. "Public arts is able to engage every person that walks or drives down this street. It's the kind of positive growth that celebrates our history and our heritage."
He commended staff members at Amber Charter School for continuing to raise the bar, and inspire their students in new and dynamic ways.
