LOCAL YOUTH ORGANIZATION RECEIVES MAJOR FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION FROM SENATOR PARKER
Brooklyn, NY- Friday - State Senator Kevin Parker presented a check for $250,000 this past Wednesday, July 23, 2008 to the Flatbush YMCA. This generous contribution will be used to revamp the facility and provide air conditioning. The donation comes at a great time when more children are entering active summer programs.
"I am delighted to offer this contribution to provide more resources for the YMCA facility," said Senator Parker. "This donation will allow the YMCA to continue their work in providing high quality care for children and families within the district.
Organized by members of the Flatbush community in 1924, the Flatbush YMCA is used to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. The YMCA of Greater New York is a community service organization which promotes positive values through programs that build spirit, mind and body, welcoming all people, with a focus on youth. This non-profit organization continues to focus on providing resources for many families within the community.
