The new Senate Democratic majority, dominated by city and downstate suburban legislators, is considering new housing laws that will favor tenants over landlords. In expectation of the new legislative priorities, 14 East Side residents and activists focused on housing are launching the East Side Housing Coalition. The mission will be to identify local housing issues and act as an organizational resource to lobby government in favor of tenants’ rights.
