Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden and his staff this past weekend hosted a community service clean up with the Probation, Sanitation and Parks Department, with the support and participation of the staff of Krystal Auto Mall on Flatbush Avenue, at Hendrickson Street and Avenue V in Marine Park at the request of a the home and Co-Op owners of the block.

The overgrown grass was trimmed, the weeds along the fence were cleared, and the street was cleaned which has been the site of illegal dumping. One garbage truck with six tons of debris and garbage was removed during the cleanup including refrigerators, stoves, tree stumps, clothing, restaurant equipment, 10 five-gallon drums of cooking oil, construction debris, and household garbage.

Senator Marty Golden stated, "I thank all those involved in this great cleanup that really made a difference on this street and throughout the surrounding community. We will not allow our community to become a dumping ground. We will continue to work with different organizations and block associations to insure that we have the best quality of life in our community so that we remain a great place to live, work and raise a family.
