Brooklyn- State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today is announcing that the New York State Senate has approved an allocation of $33 million towards the construction of the NETS arena in downtown Brooklyn.
Senator Marty Golden stated, "The State Senate’s commitment to the Atlantic Yards Nets arena will go a long way towards making Brooklyn a better place to live, to work and to raise a family. It is the chance of a lifetime to have stars such as Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Richard Jefferson and all the others have their home court based in Brooklyn. I am proud to have championed these efforts for the future of Kings County."
Senator Golden continued, "For housing, for economic development and for job creation, this project will touch upon and meet the important needs of Brooklyn residents and their families. For today’s generation and for the future, the construction of the NETS arena is something that will bring Brooklyn to new heights, to a dominance as a borough and as a county."
