Lansing – Calling it a great day for the Town of Lansing and the surrounding area, New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured a $125,000 State grant for the Lansing Community Recreational Center to help create additional recreational uses for the building. When completed this new area of the Center will be used for various community based activities as well as providing much needed meeting space for civic groups and organizations.
“I'm very pleased that I could provide the funds needed to add additional programs and services for the Center," Senator Nozzolio said. Once completed, this new addition to the facility will provide additional after-school programs, sporting events, meetings and much, much more.”
Andy Scriabba, Director of the Lansing Community Recreational Center said “We are very appreciative and grateful for Senator Nozzolio’s efforts in securing this grant that will benefit the entire community of Lansing. Senator Nozzolio understands the value of the facility and this funding will be used to complete the lower level of the Center which will host a variety of venues.”
The Lansing Community Recreational Center is a not-for-profit charitable corporation founded in 1987. Its purpose is to provide recreational opportunities for the community, especially children and senior citizens. The center lends itself to athletics, educational and recreational seminars, after school programs, and other community programs.
“In addition, the utilization of this facility by families in the area helps to attract new business to the area" Senator Nozzolio concluded.
