Buffalo, NY – New York State Senator Antoine M. Thompson (D-parts of Erie & Niagara Counties) can now add Doctor to his title. Medielle College presented the Senator with an Honorary Doctorate Degree during its 2010 Graduation Ceremony.
Thompson also served as the school’s commencement speaker on Friday, May 21st. He reminded the enthusiastic graduating class about the importance of entrepreneurship, volunteerism and the creation of green jobs.
“Entrepreneurship is the back bone of our nation and volunteerism allows you a chance to leave your community in a better condition than how you found it,” says Senator Thompson. He also highlighted how companies like Fed-Ex and Revlon Cosmetics were started during tough economic times.
In addition to his honorary Doctorate degree from Medielle College , Senator Thompson also holds a dual Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York college at Brockport. While there he studied extensively about Black, African, and American history and government.
