Senator Elaine Phillips recently attended the Sewanhaka Central High School District’s 57th annual Music Festival and Art Exhibit. Senator Phillips also presented a formal New York State Proclamation to the event’s honoree, David T. Fowler, a former school board member.
“It was truly an honor to attend Sewanhaka High School District’s 57th annual Music Festival and Art Exhibit and witness first-hand the many artistic and musical talents of all of the students,” Senator Phillips said. “Art and music are important components of education and can enrich a student’s life and broaden their exposure to the world. I applaud the district for fostering art and music through this annual festival and exhibit. Congratulations and thank you David T. Fowler for your commitment and dedication to the students, education and the community.”
David T. Fowler served as a Board Member for the School District for more than ten years, serving as President from July 2014 until July 2017. He also served on the Floral Park-Bellerose Union Free School District Board of Education from 1997 to 2017, and served as both Vice President and President of that Board.
