Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C,I,REF-Glenville) tonight announced a new $85,000 state grant he has secured to make some much-sought renovations and upgrades to the Clifton Park Senior Community Center.
The grant will go to installing a new floor in the large community room, a new doorway and to replace the HVAC unit to help conserve energy and improve the comfort for residents.
“Survey after survey show that as our senior citizens age they want to continue to be independent and live in their own homes and communities. That’s why the programs and services that senior centers, such as the Clifton Park Senior Community Center, provide is so critical to the health, wellness and emotional well-being of our senior citizens,” said Senator Tedisco.
“This $85,000 state grant that I was able to obtain will bring some much-needed renovations to the Clifton Park Senior Community Center and build on the efforts that Town Supervisor Phil Barrett, the Town Board and their staff do to make the Senior Center a home away from home for Clifton Park’s seniors,” said Senator Tedisco.
“The Clifton Park Senior Community Center remains a wonderful community resource for recreation, comradery, helpful information, training and fun for the town’s growing senior population,” said Clifton Park Town Supervisor Phil Barrett. “Thanks to Senator Jim Tedisco , the Town will be able to add to the many physical and programming improvements we have made in the last year. We appreciate Senator Tedisco’s consistent, unwavering support for Clifton Park residents of all ages.”
