Brooklyn – State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn), a founding member of the Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade, today issued a statement praising the New York City St. Patrick’s Parade Committee’s selection of Brooklyn’s Frank Comerford to serve as the Grand Marshal of the 2012 Parade:
“It was an honor to be with the Committee last night as they announced that Brooklyn’s own Frank Comerford will lead the march up New York’s 5th Avenue at the 2012 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Frank Comerford has long been a leader within the community and the Big Apple.
It is only fitting that Frank has been selected for this grand honor as a way to recognize his extraordinary contributions. I look forward to cheering Frank on as he marches with the Irish eyes of the City and World smiling upon him. The Committee could not have selected a finer gentleman for this honor.
I join with the community in thanking him for all he has done for Lutheran Medical center, Xavier High School, the Child Abuse Prevention Program, the Archdiocese of New York Catholic Charity, the Friends of AHRC Autism Program, and so many more causes. His work has benefitted so many and I know he will continue in his ways so to better New York for us all.”
Frank Comerford is the Chief Revenue Officer and President of Commercial Operations for NBC Owned Television Stations. Mr. Comerford has worked in the television industry for more than 30 years including over 15 years with NBC. Before being promoted to his current role in April 2008, he was President and General Manager of NBC’s flagship station, WNBC-TV, beginning in 2002.
