New York State Senator Patty Ritchie visited with Ogdensburg Bishop Terry LaValley during his visit to Albany on Tuesday.
Bishop LaValley oversees the Roman Catholic diocese of Ogdensburg which stretches from the shores of Lake Ontario to the shores of Lake Champlain, stretching along New York State's border with Canada.
Bishop LaValley was one of over 1,000 Roman Catholics from across New York State who visited the state legislature with the New York State Catholic Conference to talk about issues affecting Catholic schools and the New York's Catholics.
Senator Ritchie's 48th senate district includes Jefferson and a portion of St. Lawrence County that is included in Bishop LaValley's diocese.
Catholics at the Capitol is an annual event.
