Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz and Community Leader Luis Sepulveda:
Our Children Do Not Deserve This!
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) and Community Leader Luis Sepulveda will rally with parents, caretakers and community leaders against prostitution on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 2:15pm at PS 6 West Farms School on Vyse Avenue between Boston Road and East Tremont Avenue in The Bronx.
“It is a crime that our beautiful young children who go to school near West Farms are confronted with prostitution every day that they go to school,” stated Senator Reverend Diaz. “Our children deserve the same clean, safe and healthy environment that other children in New York City receive as they walk to and from school with their parents or caregivers. I am especially grateful to New York Times reporter Yardena Schwartz for her recent article that shines a light on this often-ignored reality that the children and families who live in and go to school in our community face daily.”
“We remain committed to standing beside the mothers, fathers, teachers and school administrators who have reached out to us to clean up the prostitution and crime that surrounds PS 6 and West Farms,” Luis Sepulveda added.
