SENATOR ADAMS, CHAIR OF THE VETERANS, HOMELAND SECURITY AND MILITARY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, WILL SPEAK AT THE INTERNATIONAL SECURITY CONFERENCE AT THE JAVITS CENTER
Senator Adams supports events designed to increase awareness of and participation in Homeland Security by all groups in both sectors of our economy, private and public. The Senator will attend the Public Security and Safety Expo at the Jacob Javits Center to discuss his legislative priorities and provide a state-wide overview of counterterrorism initiatives. The Senator’s remarks will be augmented by John Colgan, Vice President of Securewatch 24 and 28-year NYPD veteran and former Commanding Officer of the NYPD's Counterterrorism Bureau.
Senator Adams states: “The protection of our state and nation should never be too far from our conscious thoughts. As we press on with our daily lives and debate other issues, we should in no way stand at ease while groups or individuals seek to do us harm. Security must remain a high priority, even as issues of the day come and go. It is in this spirit that we bring together Americans of all categories, in both the public (government) sector and the private (business) sector, to collaborate and cooperate to best protect our nation.”
