Senators Addabbo, Krueger and Perkins To Call For End Of Costly Run Off Elections; Putting Millions Back Into Vital City Services

This year, less than three percent of New York City residents voted in runoff elections. The cost to taxpayers: $15 million. This expensive and outdated process should be done away with, freeing up millions of dollars that could be better spent on vital city services.

Senators Addabbo and Perkins will outline proposed legislation to eliminate runoff elections in New York City and elsewhere, while Senator Krueger will outline her proposal, to institute instantaneous runoff voting.
