Statement From Senate Majority Conference Leader John L. Sampson

April 08, 2010

Last week, the Senate Majority passed appropriation legislation to preserve essential services. Regardless of the status of budget negotiations, everyone in government should now do their part to keep New Yorkers working and our economy moving forward.
Nothing is more important than creating and protecting jobs. Therefore, I urge the Governor to rethink his decision to withhold construction funds and include in the next appropriation bill sufficient capital spending for construction projects which support thousands of workers and their families.
