Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) has obtained state funding for several local veterans organizations.

The New Windsor American Legion Post 1796 has received $10,000 for repairs and upgrades to its building on Walnut Street.

Disabled American Veterans, Edward G. Galian Memorial Chapter No. 212 in Goshen has received $10,000 toward the construction of a new handicap accessible pavilion at its meeting place to be used for events such as day trips by the hospitalized veterans at Castle Point Veterans Hospital.

Disabled American Veterans, Thomas D. Peterkin Memorial Chapter No. 152 in New Windsor has received $25,000 for structural repairs to its building.

"It is always a pleasure to work with and assist our local veterans’ groups," said Senator Larkin. "This funding will help maintain the facilities where they gather to help the local community, support one another, and share the common bond of their military experiences."
