With Mother's Day approaching, Senator Craig M. Johnson, (D-Nassau), released a Public Service Announcement Promoting Breast Cancer awareness.
In the PSA, which was filmed in Senator Johnson's childhood home in Port Washington, he talks about his mother, late County Legislator Barbara Johnson, and how her 15-year battle with breast cancer affected his family.
He also directs viewers to the The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program, which has provided professional counseling, education and outreach services to thousands of breast cancer patients and their families for the last 30 years.
The program offers assistance on a wide array of topics, including referrals for low-cost mammograms, insurance questions and wig suppliers. The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program can be reached at 1.800.877.8077, or http://www.adelphi.edu/nysbreastcancer.
