(New City, NY) – On Wednesday, NYS Senate Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Committee Chair, David Carlucci and fellow senators hosted an online forum to discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting people who are developmentally disabled. Lawmakers were joined by individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, their families, and organizations that provide essential services. Adequate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) in group homes, along with looming budget cuts were some of the topics addressed. Senators Shelley Mayer, Todd Kaminsky, Roxanne Persaud, Monica Martinez, and John Liu were in attendance, along with Former Assemblyman and Disability Advocate, Harvey Weisenberg.
