Join us in calling on the New York State Board of Parole to deny the release from prison of Anthony Bottom, convicted for his role in the shooting deaths of two New York City police officers in 1971. Officers Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones were gunned down after being lured to a Harlem housing project with a bogus 911 call.
Bottom is one of three men convicted of killing the officers and he is now eligible for parole.
We believe that Bottom’s release would be an affront to all law-abiding citizens and deprecate the severity of this crime. To minimize the lives of those dedicated to protecting the community is wrong.
