JOIN THE FIGHT: No Tax Breaks for Hollywood Millionaires

SEN. Robert G. Ortt

Senator Ortt: Protecting Taxpayers

Did you know that $5 million of your tax dollars went to fund the Weinstein Company—the same company that is mired in multiple sexual abuse cases? Sadly, this money is only a small portion of the funding we give to billionaire Hollywood companies.

Now, with the state staring down billion dollar budget deficits next year, we need to work quickly to eliminate taxpayers’ $420 million-a-year giveaway to the film and television industry.

Albany should not promote corporate Hollywood welfare while cutting funding for disability programs, mental health treatment, opioid and addiction services, or education aid. Let’s work to lower taxes and reprioritize how state government spends our money.

Please “Join the Fight” to eliminate the Hollywood tax credit.

You can add your voice to the fight to end the Hollywood tax credit by signing my “Join the Fight” Petition below. We need to send a clear message to Albany that the billionaires in Hollywood shouldn’t be profiting off our hard-earned tax dollars.
