Pledge to Make the Appointment

SEN. Sue Serino

September 18, 2020

With my recent breast cancer diagnosis comes the realization of how crucial early screening is. With all that is happening in the world, we can get sidetracked - but it is up to us to hold ourselves and those we care about accountable.

This new initiative to encourages our neighbors to ‘Make the Appointment’ and commit to scheduling, and following through, on their own health screenings. Whether it’s a mammogram, a colonoscopy, a prostate exam, or any other health screening, I hope my story inspires you to commit to putting your own health first. Sign the pledge and share with friends and family to remind them to #Maketheappointment.

Thanks to a new law supported by Senator Serino, large group insurers are now required to cover medically necessary mammograms for women aged 35-39.

Take the pledge to #MaketheAppointment and remember that early detection and prevention can make all the difference.

I will continue to use my breast cancer diagnosis to encourage others to put their health first and remind those I love to #MakeTheAppointment#BreastCancerAwareness
