Omar Lebron
US Army

Omar Lebron was born and raised in East Harlem, New York City. He has a
distinguished military background retiring with almost 16 years of service in
the United States Army at the Rank of Staff Sergeant (SSG) E-6.

Mr. Lebron’s period of service is from January 1994 - July 2014, with a small
break in service where he held a distinguished position of Program Director
of a Welfare to Work program in the Bronx, while working with Goodwill
Industries.

Mr. Lebron served during our Nation’s most active military functions in
recent years, having deployed to Kosovo in support of the United Nations
mission in 1999-2000 and to Iraq twice in 2003 and again in 2009-2010.

He graduated from Fordham University with his Bachelor’s Degree in
Organizational Leadership. Mr. Lebron is a full-time student at Fordham
University achieving his Master’s Degree in Ethics and Society.

He gave a lot of his time to the cause of meeting the needs in policy
change to the international and local communities by interning with an
Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) in partnership with the United
Nations as an Additional Representative on the UN mission to eradicate
poverty by the year 2030.

Mr. Lebron has also been a member of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of
America (IAVA) since September 2016 and has volunteered to support
several events citywide. He is currently continuing to service the community
by being named the Co-Chair of the Policy Platform committee for the
West Harlem Progressive Democrats as of April 2018.
