Adam Roche
US Marine Corps

Adam Roche answered the call to serve by joining the United States Marine Corps immediately following high school in 2000. He graduated boot camp
from Parris Island in November and went to the Infantry Training Battalion at Camp Geiger, North Carolina, which is where he trained to become an
infantry machine gunner.

While stationed with the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, located in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, he was deployed three times—once to Japan, once to Iraq,
and once to Afghanistan.

His unit was first assigned to Task Force Tarawa, which was one of the first units deployed to Iraq in 2003. There, he served as a squad leader for 3/2
Lima Company, whose main fight was the Battle of An Nasiriyah, which was an experience that taught him a lot about himself and helps drive his dedication to serve other veterans.

After serving in Iraq, his unit was deployed to Afghanistan where he served as the Sergeant of the Guard responsible for security of the American Embassy in Kabul.

Mr. Roche finished his enlistment in the Marine Corps in 2004 and enrolled in Dutchess Community College. After working various jobs in the community, his path ultimately led to his current role as Program Manager for Mental Health America of Dutchess County’s Dwyer Vet2Vet Program. He understands how challenging the adjustment back to civilian life can be first-hand and he leverages his experiences to assist other veterans living and working in the community. In his role with Vet2Vet, he leads a team dedicated to assisting area veterans who may be struggling with PTSD, TBI, mental health or other unique challenges. Through his work, he has touched the lives of countless fellow veterans, and their family members, as he works tirelessly every day to ensure our veterans have access to the resources they need to thrive in our community.

Mr. Roche serves as a member of the Hudson Valley Veteran Task Force, Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney’s Veterans Advisory Board, Senator Sue
Serino’s Veterans Advisory Board, and Castle Point’s Veterans Advisory Board.
