Kenneth Nurse

Kenneth Nurse, Psy.D., Ph.D., DM, served in the United States Army Active and Reserve and the New York State National Guard. He retired from West Point Military Academy as a Command Sergeant Major.
Mr. Nurse attended his first military school at Fort Lee, Virginia, where he graduated in the top 5% of his 43M10 class, and he has completed 26 additional active-duty advancement schools. A specialist in Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Warfare, he is also a prominent Combat Life Saver trained by the 244th Medical Group in the City of Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His tours of duty included deployment into combat zones in Southwest Asia and the Balkans as well as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq.
For his military service, he has earned many recognitions and awards including: The Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service, NATO Medal for Excellence, Army Service Ribbons, Army Commendation Medal (Second Award), Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal (Second Award), NCO Professional Development Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Saudi Arabia Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Kuwait Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, Saudi Arabia [Gold] Conspicuous Service Cross, New York State NATO Medal, Bosnia/Croatia/ Hungary Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Overseas Service Bar (3), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Iraq Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.
He holds numerous degrees including a Doctor of Psychology, Doctor of Management, a Doctorate in Philosophy, and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management, just to name a few. Additionally, he has earned several accreditations and certifications throughout his career.
He is a member of American Legion Post #199 and has held numerous positions including: Post Chaplain, Adjutant, First Vice-Commander, and is currently serving as Commander. He was awarded Post Legionnaire Veteran of the Year, Rockland County Buffalo Soldier of the Year, and Post Legionnaire Veteran of the Year.
He is dedicated to the mission of the American Legion’s support of veterans, the homeless and at-risk youth. He is affiliated with the American Psychological Association, National Business Honor Society, SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society, Society for Human Resource Management, Kiwanis International and Who's Who in America.
Mr. Nurse is currently employed at the University of the Rockies as Student Mentor/ Dissertation Chair and an Adjunct Professor of DNA Forensic Studies.
