As an assigned Engineer, he, along with his team, built several roads and Army bases. He was able to see firsthand the transformation and modernization of Afghanistan. Many of the missions were dangerous but necessary. Mr. Lowe spent long days in the blazing sun with pounds of equipment on to complete assigned tasks. He understood that the Army brought value to the job, but was also able to appreciate the locals and their beliefs. This was a valuable learning experience for him and others around him.
