Lance Corporal Joselyn Iris Rodriguez
US Marine Corps

Lance Corporal Joselyn Iris Rodriguez currently serves in the United States Marines. She obtained the rank of Lance Corporal E3.

A Brooklyn native of Puerto Rican descent, Lance Corporal Rodriguez has always been determined to help those in need. Her mother instilled in her, as well as her three siblings, the values of prioritizing and being of service to others and never forgetting their roots.

As a child, Lance Corporal Rodriguez attended Bushwick United Day Care. She then attended P.S. 257, continuing to middle school at I.S. 318. At this point, her brother had just joined the United States Army, which initiated the decision she made to pursue a career in the Armed Forces. An honor roll student throughout her time at I.S. 318, Lance Corporal Rodriguez continued to achieve stellar grades while she attended Williamsburg Charter High School.

Upon graduating in 2018, Lance Corporal Rodriguez joined the United States Marines. Although she is based in San Diego, California, she comes home to visit her mom in her native Brooklyn whenever she has the opportunity.

Lance Corporal Rodriguez has always had a fondness for the arts and hopes to one day open a dance studio in her North Brooklyn community.

Lance Corporal Rodriguez recently welcomed two new additions to her family — her newborn daughter, Jaycee, and her dog, Ace.
