Robert Piazza

Robert Piazza has dedicated his life to serving his country and community. Mr. Piazza’s decades of service have been a shining example to those around him, and he has been a role model for many in the Queens community.
Mr. Piazza began his public service in the United States Army. Serving in the Vietnam era, he was proud to support this country during its time of need. Following his service in the Armed Forces, he became active in veterans’ issues, serving as Post Adjutant and Service Officer of American Legion Post 1836 Boulevard Gardens in Woodside, New York.
In addition to his service to country, his dedication to community has been beyond reproach. Volunteering his time and talents, he served as board president for Woodside on the Move, a grassroots community organization dedicated to making Woodside and western Queens a better place to live and learn. Under his leadership, its services helped many Queens neighbors with affordable housing and pro bono legal services. Woodside on the Move hosted after school and summer camp activities for young people and adult ESL and computer classes, and enriched the civic life of western Queens through street fairs and art festivals.
Mr. Piazza also had a successful career in technology, working at the Xerox Corporation for many years.
Mr. Piazza has been a shining example of lifelong public service and has improved the lives of his neighbors in western Queens.
