Tracy J. LoTemple
Honoree Profile
Tracy J. LoTemple served in the United States Navy from 1996-2000, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class.
After her service, Ms. LoTemple pursued a degree in Dental Hygiene from Monroe Community College (MCC) in Rochester. For 18 years, she enjoyed educating her patients and helping to make their smiles sparkle.
Like many female veterans, Ms. LoTemple found it difficult to find her place in the veteran community. In 2017, Ms. LoTemple decided to make a change and accepted a part-time position as a Veteran Intake & Engagement Specialist at The PFC Dwyer Program of Monroe County. Over the next year, she set out to build a safe, inclusive environment for female veterans to gather in friendship and share their experiences.
She helped female veterans feel recognized for their service through the “I Am Not Invisible” photo display that featured pictures of current female veterans next to photos of them when they were in service; this display is now permanently housed at MCC. Ms. LoTemple created a yearly celebration, “Sisters in Service,” drawing female veterans together to share cherished memories from their time in service. She also created a Female Veteran of the Year Award.
Realizing that working with the veteran community was her true passion, in 2019, Ms. LoTemple accepted a full-time position as Program Manager of the PFC Dwyer Program of Monroe County powered by CompeerCORPS. In 2021, she was promoted to Director of Veteran Service at Compeer Rochester.
Ms. LoTemple is the 2nd Vice Commander at American Legion Post 1830, and is an Associate Member of the Blue Star Mothers Chapter 8. She is a volunteer with inner city youth as Cadre for the 209th Regiment of Army Cadets.
Ms. LoTemple was presented with the Veteran MVP award, and in 2020, earned the Disabled American Veterans Certificate of Appreciation for continuing the mission to serve veterans during the COVID-19 pandemic. She believes that helping veterans and their families find their place in the community is a rewarding experience. Her passion, dedication, loyalty, and patriotism are clear in every role she has taken on.
