Marianne F. Cartisano, Ed.D. joined the Miller Place School District staff in January 2003 as the Assistant Superintendent for Business.
In July 2007, Dr. Cartisano was promoted to Deputy Superintendent, and in July 2012, she was appointed Superintendent of Schools until her recent retirement. Before working with Miller Place School District, Dr. Cartisano was employed by the Rocky Point School District and Middle Country Central School District.
On the post-graduate level, Dr. Cartisano has taught numerous educational administrative courses in District Administration, School District Community Policy and Practice, School Finance, Personnel Administration, and School Law, and has acted as the cooperating administrator for administrative interns.
Dr. Cartisano has served as a panelist and presenter on a variety of educational topics and has served as a member of several professional organizations.
In 2005, Dr. Cartisano spearheaded the implementation of technology in the classroom, helping Miller Place become one of the first districts to introduce Smart Board technology in every classroom and teaching environment.
Under Dr. Cartisano’s leadership, the District completed its one-to-one learning device initiative in 2020, which ensured every student in the District had a personal internet-connected device to augment learning.
Dr. Cartisano earned her Doctoral degree in Educational Administration, Leadership, and Technology from Dowling College in May 2009. She earned Professional Certifications from Long Island University (CW Post) in June 1996, an MBA from Dowling College in December 1993, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Long Island University (CW Post) in May 1988, and an Associate degree in Business Administration from Suffolk County Community College in 1986.
