Sigilfredo Roman
US Army

Sigilfredo Roman enlisted in 1964, and proudly served in the United States Army for two years. He then joined the National Guard, where he served for 24 years. He achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class.

While serving in the United States Army, Mr. Roman was deployed to Germany where he served with the utmost professionalism and pride.

Upon leaving the Armed Forces with an honorable discharge, Mr. Roman focused on his home and community, two aspects of his life that he values greatly; on a daily basis, he applies the skills he learned while serving.

Following his service to our country, Mr. Roman began working as a delivery truck driver at Unitex – a family-run business that specializes in medical uniforms and linen rentals. His successful 20-year career, where he made many friends and became well-known for his work ethic, enabled him to provide for his family.

A member of the New York Senior Council, Mr. Roman is a staunch advocate who works diligently on behalf of senior citizens' rights in New York State. He also spends quality time as a volunteer at the Highbridge Senior Center, setting trays and clearing the kitchen for meals and engaging in conversation. His positive attitude and acts of kindness are appreciated by many.

In addition to his work for senior citizens, Mr. Roman also volunteers at CASA, a housing advocacy group in New York City.

A hard-working, focused man, Mr. Roman never stopped giving back to his community and beyond. He had a very successful military career, where he served our Nation for many years.

Mr. Roman is a proud father and grandfather to his daughter and two grandchildren.
