Yvette Greene Dennis
Honoree Profile
Yvette Greene Dennis is the Executive of Program Management Labor Compliance Officer for the JFK Redevelopment Project.
Ms. Dennis is the daughter of the late Darryl E. Greene, CEO of The Darman Group. She was brought into the business early in her youth by her father, and was taught about the construction and development industry from the ground up.
Ms. Dennis labored in the skilled trades, while observing all aspects of contract compliance on her projects. Eventually, she took the skills she gained and combined her field expertise with her knowledge of construction, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from The School of Design and Construction.
She proceeded to serve as a developer’s liaison with various communities across New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia, bringing personality and commitment to this role as only she could. Through hard work and dedication, Ms. Dennis was rewarded by earning a place as Executive Director of Contract and Workforce Compliance on major projects across New York City.
Ms. Dennis has continually performed her work with diligence and professionalism, and in such a manner that she is embraced by builders and workers – from demolition to ribbon cutting. Few share her impressive skill set, and she credits her acumen to her father's tutelage and her parents’ confidence in
her abilities. She was encouraged all her life to meet the challenge, no matter what it might be.
After 45 years – still sporting her signature pink work boots, pink hardhat and pink vest – Ms. Dennis continues to carry on her father's life's work. She joined the firm Crescent Consulting, where she continues her work to protect the interests of the community, M/WBEs and minorities in construction.
In her role at Crescent, she brings all the dignity and professionalism she observed in her father’s daily performance and work ethic, continuing to break down doors and stand against any practice or policy that is contrary to the success of the M/WBE community.
Ms. Dennis has played an instrumental role on many well-known projects, including Metrotech, Atlantic Center and Atlantic Terminal, The Marriott Hotel, Courthouse at 330 Jay Street, East River Plaza and a plethora of work throughout many communities.
She serves as an adviser to the Office of Senator Leroy Comrie, and volunteers her time giving back to the community by providing OSHA training and job placement for youth.
Through all of her accomplishments, Ms. Dennis gives all thanks and praise to God first.
