Sergeant First Class Ruby Dawn Price joined the United States Army in 1989 as a single parent to provide a better life for her two daughters.

Currently, Sergeant Price serves as the Senior Supply Logistician for the 3rd Battalion 309th Regiment. She has been in the position since December 31, 2011 with an end date of August 2022. Prior to this assignment, she was stationed in Giessen, Germany from 1989-1992, Fort Stewart, Georgia from 1992-2004, and in Oakland Army Base, California from 2007-2011. Sergeant Price plans to retire at the age of 60, with 30 years committed to service to our Nation.

Born in Seaside, California, Sergeant Price arrived in Syracuse in December 2011, from Conroe, Texas, due to a promotion. During her active duty years in the military, she earned numerous medals and accommodations, including six Army Achievement medals, three Army Commendation medals, ten Good Conduct medals for every three years of continuous active duty service, and two Command Sergeant Major coins for singing the National Anthem at Change of Command ceremonies. In 2013, during the Wheel of Fortune Military Week, Sergeant Price was second place winner, allowing her to tell her story on the show.

Sergeant Price is a staunch advocate for veterans and her community. She has selflessly given her time and talents to the Syracuse area through her volunteer work with organizations that include If We Eat They Eat, serving meals and clothing items to those without homes. She recently was a guest volunteer judge for the Miss Syracuse Pageant. Sergeant Price has also been an avid member with the Gospel Music Workshops of America for over 10 years and conducts citywide music workshops at local churches and organizations upon request.

Sergeant Price is proud of her service and has a message to her soldiers, family and friends, “Each one, reach one, you are the voice of the voiceless sometimes, and aspire to inspire before you expire."

Sergeant Price is a proud mother of two daughters and a blessed grandmother of six.
