Linda Sadacka

volunteer moms with unique talents, interests and resources, the group known as Moms on a Mitzvah provides direct, personalized support for individuals and families facing a broad array of challenges.

Ms. Sadacka is a powerhouse problem solver who has always answered the call to help in myriad ways, providing people with essential needs, such as food, clothing and social engagement. She is an advocate in the medical arena with the help of her husband and likeminded partner, who is a community physician.

As a one-woman operation, she worked quietly behind the scenes until 2016, when she roused community support in her effort to save the life of 6-year-old Elisha Cohen. In two weeks, her online petition to the FDA garnered 100,000 signatures, successfully securing a potentially lifesaving treatment.

Having cultivated a network of women who share her will and desire to help anyone in need, Moms on a Mitzvah was born and has been a veritable force ever since, providing critical assistance to a growing number of people with nowhere else to turn. The families served by Moms on a Mitzvah have sadly slipped through the cracks. They are under-resourced and overburdened, battling hunger, poverty or critical illness. All are in some way fighting for their lives.

With an overriding goal to meet helplessness with hope, Moms on a Mitzvah provides much more than concrete support. They bolster strength and infuse joy back into the lives of people worn down by the challenges they face. Under Ms. Sadacka’s effective leadership, Moms on a Mitzvah creates life-changing experiences for children and adults with critical illnesses and advances solutions that confront hunger and poverty’s root causes, particularly for populations whose problems were previously overlooked. She firmly believes that a small group of women can bring positive change and unity to the world – one person at a time.

Ms. Sadacka was born in Montreal, Canada, where she attended Herzliya Jewish Day School, Vanier College and TAV College. She is a proud wife, mother of six children and a grandmother.
