Frederick Gundel served in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Specialist.

A proud Army veteran, Mr. Gundel was a Specialist with the 120th Assault Helicopter Company from 1970 through 1972 during the Vietnam War.

For his bravery and service to our Nation, Mr. Gundel earned numerous awards and recognitions, including the Overseas Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.

A staunch advocate on behalf of veterans, Mr. Gundel continues to champion veterans’ issues as Commander of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Frank Kowalinski Post #4 since 2012.

Mr. Gundel is a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 551, a Lifetime Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 31, a member of the American Legion, and volunteer at the Saint Albans VA Hospital. Mr. Gundel is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Maspeth Lions Club.

An avid fan of country music, Mr. Gundel has been a resident of Maspeth, New York since 1983.
