Robert (Bob) E. Antonacci II is an accomplished accountant, attorney, community leader and tireless advocate for hardworking taxpayers.  He has dedicated much of his professional life to the residents of Onondaga County, where he served as its elected Comptroller for nearly three terms before his election to the New York State Senate.

Bob is a lifelong resident of Central New York and is the son of a United Auto Workers (UAW) Electrician, Robert, and a Central New York small business owner, Joanne.  He is a graduate of Le Moyne College, where he earned honors while studying accounting. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Bob began working for the prestigious accounting firm Ernst & Young, and went on to become a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).  He later attended Syracuse University School of Law and graduated cum laude.  Soon after, Bob was admitted to the New York State Bar and began his own private practice representing business and legal clients.

In 2007, Bob decided to leave his private practice for the opportunity to serve his community as Onondaga County Comptroller.  He was elected three times (2007, 2011, 2015) as the chief fiscal watchdog of Central New York’s largest county.  Bob has served with distinction and has earned the respect and numerous accolades from his peers across New York.  In 2018, with the retirement of Senator John DeFrancisco, Bob ran and was elected to represent the people of the 50th district in the New York State Senate.

Bob is known by political leaders and the business community for having the courage to stand up and fight for the interests of the taxpayer.  As County Comptroller, he has performed countless audits to ensure the people’s money is spent properly and honestly.  Bob is an independent voice with a proven record of helping to create government efficiency.

In addition to his professional career, Bob is also very active in the athletic community.  A talented athlete in his own right, he now oversees a youth baseball league and volunteers as a high school basketball referee.

Bob and his wife, Michele, have two children - a son, Robert III, and a daughter, Jacqueline.  Michele is a registered nurse and shares her husband’s commitment to public service and giving back.  The Antonacci’s share their home with their beloved companion animal, Abbey, and Bob has pledged to be a tireless advocate for the humane treatment of animals in the New York State Senate.
