Please join Senator Elaine Phillips Thursday, November 9, for a Street Renaming Ceremony in honor of late Army Ranger Sergeant James J. Regan.

Sergeant Regan, of Manhasset, made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country on February 9, 2007 when his vehicle was targeted by an IED in Northern Iraq. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze

Star Medal, Purple Heart and Meritorious Service Medal for his brave and heroic service, and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

Senator Phillips’ legislation renaming a portion of Port Washington Boulevard between Northern Boulevard and Crabapple Road “Sergeant James J. Regan Memorial Boulevard was signed into law earlier this year.

Family, friends, and members of the community will gather for a dedication ceremony at the location of the new sign.
