Join Senator Nathalia Fernández and the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) for a free Narcan Training. Learn how to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses, understand harm reduction and prevention strategies, and debunk common myths and stigma surrounding addiction.
Training includes:
- Recognizing and responding to overdoses
- The science behind substance use and addiction
- Understanding harm reduction and overdose prevention
- How opiates work and overdose risk factors
Participants will receive:
- Two doses of Narcan (naloxone)
- Fentanyl and xylazine test strips
- A first aid kit with a CPR face shield and Deterra drug disposal bag
Additional information on accessing more supplies will also be provided.
