Senator Roxanne J. Persaud in Partnership with Author Kamla Millwood Presents, “Story Time: Peach’s PPE”

(Brooklyn, NY) --  NYS Senator Roxanne J. Persaud (D - Canarsie, East New York, Brownsville, Mill Basin, Sheepshead Bay, Bergen Beach, Marine Park, Flatlands, Mill Island, Georgetown, Ocean Hill, and Starrett City) in partnership with children’s author Kamla Millwood, will be hosting “Story Time: Peach’s PPE.”  Ms. Millwood, author of the popular children’s book series, "Peach the Duck," will read and talk to children on the importance of wearing a mask, social distancing, and personal hygiene on Wednesday, May 27th at 11 AM on Facebook LIVE.

I am honored to partner with Ms. Millwood in hosting this online event to help children understand the importance of taking necessary precautions during this coronavirus pandemic,” said Senator Persaud; “In these unprecedented times, it is important that children continue a proper education and health routine.  Familiar characters, such as ‘Peach the Duck,’ help explain the proper use of facial coverings and social distancing from a child’s perspective and will give children better understanding as to why certain public health measures are currently required.  Additionally,  this event will inspire a passion for reading among our youngest constituents while engaging in remote learning.”
