Steven John Antonacci

Steven John Antonacci served in the United States Army and achieved the rank of E4 Specialist.

Mr. Antonacci was inducted into the Army and stationed at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. It was not long before, at 19 years old, he was shipped out to Vietnam, First Field Force, from 1968 to 1969.

John Murphy

John Murphy is a distinguished veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps. He achieved the rank of Captain, embodying the core values of honor, courage, and commitment.

Mr. Murphy stands as a pillar of service and dedication. With a multifaceted career spanning decades of public service and military leadership, Mr. Murphy's impact resonates deeply throughout Rockland County and beyond.

George M. Harrington

George M. Harrington served in the United States Navy as a Signalman.

Mr. Harrington's story reflects the valor and sacrifice of countless individuals who served as Navy Signalmen during World War II. Born in 1926, he joined the Navy at the tender age of 18 in March 1944, just as the war was intensifying. Hailing from Endicott, New York, he grew up on a farm as one of six siblings. Like many young men of his generation, Mr. Harrington felt the call to duty and left his civilian life behind to serve his country.

Querino A. Alteri

Querino A. Alteri enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943, where he served as a Quartermaster for a decade.

He is a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. While serving, Mr. Alteri had many responsibilities, including interpreting signals and messages. He was skilled in semaphore, a system involving flag communications and navigation. Additionally, he plotted charts, diagrammed celestial navigation, and was responsible for seamanship; he was relied on to “drive the ship,” and minesweeper.

John F. Boyd, Sr.

John F. Boyd, Sr. served in the United States Army and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.

As a veteran of the Army, Mr. Boyd supports and salutes our American military heroes and first responders. Throughout his professional and civic endeavors, Mr. Boyd has always kept his fellow veterans close to his heart. He was the general contractor who helped construct and fund the American Legion Joe Murphy Post 1957. Mr. Boyd remains active with the American Legion Post, and has become both a friend and mentor to many veterans and young people in his community.

Paul O’Keefe

Paul O’Keefe was drafted into the United States Army and served as a Private First Class.

A resident of Mechanicville, New York, he attended basic training at Camp Atterbury in Indiana. He was stationed in Japan and Busan, Korea, where he served for seven months at the onset of the Korean War.

While in Korea, Mr. O’Keefe served with the 24th Infantry Division (known as the Victory Division) as one of the first U.S. troops called to South Korea to fight with the Republic of Korea’s (ROK) troops.

Jean Otto MacIntosh

Jean Otto MacIntosh of Irvington served honorably in the United States Navy WAVES from 1943 to 1946 during World War II as an Ensign O-1.

Ms. MacIntosh was born on October 3, 1919 in Naples, New York, in the Finger Lakes, and attended Keuka College for Women, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1941.

Hal Queyor

Hal Queyor enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Mr. Queyor of Malone has more than 50 years of service as an Army Reservist and as a community leader.

He enlisted in the Reserve and was assigned to the 310th Field Hospital, 77th Army Command on August 4, 1968. After a stint at Brooke Medical Center at Fort Sam in Houston, Texas for advanced training in Hospital Administration, Mr.
Queyor returned to Malone and the 310th Field Hospital.

Bill Whetsel

Bill Whetsel served in the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of Airman First Class-E3.

A decorated veteran, Mr. Whetsel served our Nation as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) member. He then joined Trans World Airlines for a 13-year career.

Julio A. Feliu

Julio A. Feliu is a distinguished veteran who served the country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Feliu served in active duty from 1951 until 1952, achieving the rank of Corporal during his military career.
