LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Bryan Stevens for his heroic lifesav-
ing action

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the caring concern and heroic acts of individuals who take
prompt and appropriate action in emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Bryan Stevens for his heroic lifesaving action; and
WHEREAS, On Friday, December 12, 2008, Bryan Stevens pulled a local
couple out of Ball Creek; while driving east on Ramsey Road in North
Harmony, the driver lost control of the vehicle and slid into the end of
a bridge, striking the right-front passenger side of their vehicle; and
WHEREAS, The victims' vehicle overturned and landed on its roof in
Ball Creek; partially submerged, with both of their heads underwater,
the female passenger attempted to make her way out through the back seat
of the vehicle; at this point, Bryan Stevens, who was plowing Ramsey
Road, saw tracks and the overturned vehicle in the creek; he then
proceeded to remove the couple from the creek and, with assistance from
the female passenger, began CPR on the unconscious spouse, who was not
breathing; and
WHEREAS, Upon arrival of emergency personnel, Bryan Stevens and the
female passenger had resuscitated her husband, and Bryan Stevens
deserves special honor for his quick work and aggressive efforts; and
WHEREAS, Justly recognized as a hero, Bryan Stevens richly merits the
admiration of this Legislative Body and his community for his consum-
mate, swift action in protecting the lives of the couple; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Bryan Stevens, in his spontaneous
and heroic act, has so aptly demonstrated his character and compassion
for the welfare of others, personifying, by virtue of his action, the
collective concern of citizens across the community of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Bryan Stevens for his heroic lifesaving action; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bryan Stevens.
