LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Hammondsport Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment, Wayne Volunteer Fire Department and Hammondsport Volunteer Ambu-
lance as recipients of the 2008 Steuben County Team Work Award by Steu-
ben County Emergency Services

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the Hammondsport
Volunteer Fire Department, Wayne Volunteer Fire Department and Hammonds-
port Volunteer Ambulance upon the occasion of their designation as
recipients of the 2008 Steuben County Team Work Award by Steuben County
Emergency Services to be celebrated at its Awards Banquet on Saturday,
April 4, 2009, at the Hammondsport Fire Station; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Hammondsport Volunteer Fire Department,
Wayne Volunteer Fire Department and Hammondsport Volunteer Ambulance are
being commended for their team work demonstrated with the successful
resuscitation of a fellow firefighter during the Hammondsport Fire
Department's Carnival on July 5, 2008; and
WHEREAS, On many occasions, the Hammondsport Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment, Wayne Volunteer Fire Department and Hammondsport Volunteer Ambu-
lance have acted with bravery and steady precision in dealing with the
risk and drama of emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, In the performance of their duties, the members of the
Hammondsport Volunteer Fire Department, Wayne Volunteer Fire Department
and Hammondsport Volunteer Ambulance have demonstrated their character
and their compassion for the welfare of others and have proven to be
tremendous assets to their community; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body cannot express sufficient gratitude to
those devoted individuals who recognize that the preservation of life is
a sacred responsibility and who make that responsibility their own by
serving as firefighters and EMS personnel; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that we should give
special recognition to those who work so assiduously for the betterment
of their communities, and acknowledge publicly the heroic good works
performed by the volunteer fire departments and ambulance squads of this
great Empire State, their officers and auxiliaries; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Hammondsport Volunteer Fire Department, Wayne Volunteer Fire
Department and Hammondsport Volunteer Ambulance as recipients of the
2008 Steuben County Team Work Award by Steuben County Emergency
Services; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Hammondsport Volunteer Fire Department, Wayne Volunteer
Fire Department and Hammondsport Volunteer Ambulance.
