LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring nonagenarian Marsha Moses upon the occa-
sion of her designation for special recognition on April 19, 2009

WHEREAS, The quality and richness of life in the communities of New York
State are enriched and sustained through the contributions of individ-
uals whose long and purposeful lives personify the values of family,
faith and citizenship; and
WHEREAS, A citizen of such worthy purpose and good works is Marsha
Moses, an exceptional nonagenarian whose zest for life and concern for
others has enriched the lives of all those who have had the opportunity
to know and love her; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend such individuals as Marsha Moses, who have touched the lives of
so many; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor 90
years young Marsha Moses upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition on Sunday, April 19, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her lifetime, Marsha Moses has extended a warm
embrace and an open heart to all those in need and has given selflessly
of her time and energies in service to others; and
WHEREAS, Marsha Moses gives rise to the spirit of human kindness with-
in us all as witnessed by her generous donations of food and clothing;
she also exhibits the traits of compassion and charity as reflected by
her significant contributions to numerous service organizations; and
WHEREAS, With boundless love in her heart, Marsha Moses has always
provided a warm and nurturing home for her children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her
life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished woman has experienced the incredible joys
and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those with the stamina
and courage to savor a full life; and
WHEREAS, This beloved lady has enriched the lives of those around her
through her joyous and sincere love for others and through the quiescent
charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have witnessed
and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and awesome
achievements of this country during the last century, while themselves
contributing to the growth and excellence of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor nonagenarian Marsha Moses upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marsha Moses.
