LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Natalie Morales upon the occasion of
receiving the Friendship Circle Luncheon Communications Service Award
from the Sid Jacobson JCC at its sixth annual Friendship Circle Luncheon
on May 12, 2009

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Natalie Morales upon the occasion of receiving the Friendship Circle
Luncheon Communications Service Award from the Sid Jacobson JCC at its
sixth annual Friendship Circle Luncheon on May 12, 2009; and
WHEREAS, The co-anchor and a national correspondent on the "Today
Show," Natalie Morales is a Celebrity Champion for the Alzheimer's Asso-
ciation campaign to educate the public about the disease and knows first
hand how it affects people; her mother-in-law suffers from Young Onset
Alzheimer's disease; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Natalie Morales and to wish her
continued success in all of her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Natalie Morales upon the occasion of receiving the Friendship
Circle Luncheon Communications Service Award from the Sid Jacobson JCC
at its sixth annual Friendship Circle Luncheon on May 12, 2009; and be
it farther
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Natalie Morales.
