LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Mike Arteaga upon the occasion of
receiving the 2009 Public Health Partnership Organizational Award from
the Dutchess County Board of Health

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mike
Arteaga upon the occasion of receiving the 2009 Public Health Partner-
ship Organizational Award from the Dutchess County Board of Health; and
WHEREAS, Mike Arteaga is the owner of Mike Arteaga's Health and
Fitness Centers, which have over 35 years of service to the community
and have been recognized as some of the leading facilities within the
industry; and
WHEREAS, Involved in designing specific exercise programs for people
referred to his health centers, Mike Arteaga has been invited to speak
at the industry's international convention on a number of occasions and
has served on its board of directors; he also conducts lectures both
inside and outside his clubs on a variety of health related topics; and
WHEREAS, Mike Arteaga has a special interest in the latest health and
fitness research and has the unique ability to translate this informa-
tion into simple practical terms that show people how it benefits them;
a prime example is his MedX Healthy Back and Neck program which has been
proven to alleviate back pain, improve functional ability and prevent
re-injury; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Mike Arteaga and to wish him contin-
ued success in all of his future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mike Arteaga upon the occasion of receiving the 2009 Public Health
Partnership Organizational Award from the Dutchess County Board of
Health; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mike Arteaga.
