LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Furniture Sharehouse upon the occasion
of celebrating its Second Anniversary on April 21, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals and organizations who are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Furniture Sharehouse, Westchester's Furniture Bank, upon the occasion of
its Second Anniversary to be celebrated on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at
Westchester County Airport, White Plains, New York; and
WHEREAS, At this most auspicious occasion, Furniture Sharehouse will
recognize four exemplary organizations who have contributed significant-
ly to its mission including: The Junior League of Westchester on the
Sound, Westchester County, Westhab Inc. and Grace Church Community
Center; and
WHEREAS, Furniture Sharehouse collects gently-used and new furniture
from the general public and vendors and redistributes it free of charge
to clients referred by member social service agencies, ensuring that it
goes directly to those who need it most; and
WHEREAS, The success enjoyed by Furniture Sharehouse is in direct
correlation to the efforts of the many volunteers who have selflessly
supported the development of the organization over the years; and
WHEREAS, Equally commendable are Furniture Sharehouse's superbly-
skilled staff, whose involvement is and has always been characterized by
an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all of their efforts on behalf of the organ-
ization and the population it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Furniture Sharehouse upon the occasion of celebrating its Second
Anniversary on April 21, 2009; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Furniture Sharehouse.
