LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring John DiMartino upon the occasion of his
designation by the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of a
Robert E. Freedman Retailer Award on January 28, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the achievements of individuals, organizations, and businesses
which contribute substantially to the economic health and vitality of
the communities of the State of New York, and to their quality of life;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor John
DiMartino upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient of a
Great Neck Chamber of Commerce 2009 Robert E. Freedman Retailer Award;
and
WHEREAS, John DiMartino will be honored at the Great Neck Chamber of
Commerce's Annual Awards Dinner, to be held in Melville Hall at the
United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York, on
Wednesday, January 28, 2009; and
WHEREAS, The Robert E. Freedman Retailer Award is being presented to
John DiMartino, of Great Neck Chemists, in recognition of his outstand-
ing service to the Great Neck retail community; and
WHEREAS, Through his extraordinary efforts and commitment of time and
energy, John DiMartino has demonstrated an inspirational devotion to the
continuing betterment of Great Neck and the entire Great Neck peninsula;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and commend them for the
edification and emulation of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor John DiMartino upon the occasion of his designation by the Great
Neck Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of a Robert E. Freedman
Retailer Award on January 28, 2009; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John DiMartino.
