LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Toni Scott upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Unsung Hero Award by The Westchester
Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Toni Scott has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Toni Scott
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Unsung Hero
Award by The Westchester Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect to be
celebrated at its 32nd Annual "Unsung Heroes" Awards Ceremony, on Thurs-
day, April 30, 2009, at The Westchester Institute for Human Development,
Cedarwood Hall, Westchester Medical Center Campus, Valhalla, New York;
and
WHEREAS, After seven years of working as a part-time Relief House
Parent for Family Services of Westchester, Toni Scott was promoted to
House Manager at the Agency's Community Residence for Children and
Adolescents; and
WHEREAS, In her current role as House Manager, she works with serious-
ly emotionally disturbed adolescent boys; in this position, she has
responded to both youth and staffing needs without fail in every type of
situation and crisis, all while learning on the job; and
WHEREAS, Toni Scott's genuine heartfelt response has truly ensured the
youth are safe to grow while they are in our care; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Toni Scott has displayed throughout
her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Toni Scott upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Unsung Hero Award by The Westchester Task Force on Child Abuse and
Neglect; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Toni Scott.
