LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Linette Mora upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Unsung Hero Award by The Westchester
Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Linette Mora has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Linette Mora
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Unsung Hero
Award by The Westchester Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect to be
celebrated at its 32nd Annual "Unsung Heroes" Awards Ceremony, on Thurs-
day, April 30, 2009, at The Westchester Institute for Human Development,
Cedarwood Hall, Westchester Medical Center Campus, Valhalla, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Linette Mora, a Senior Social Caseworker who works in the
Child Welfare Training Unit (CWTU) as a trainer/coach, has been employed
with the Department of Social Services for approximately 10 years having
worked as a CPS caseworker in the two largest district offices in the
County; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Linette Mora trains and mentors new caseworkers in
best case work practice in Child Protective, Preventive and Foster Care
Services; and
WHEREAS, Linette Mora's experience and passion to serve our families
is easily transferred to the trainees as they are assigned actual cases
in the different program areas; two of her best skills are direct-honest
communication and engaging challenging people; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Linette Mora has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Linette Mora upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Unsung Hero Award by The Westchester Task Force on Child Abuse and
Neglect; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Linette Mora.
