LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Richmond County Savings Foundation
upon the occasion of receiving the Community Service Award from GRACE on
April 24, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Richmond County Savings Foundation upon the occasion of receiving the
Community Service Award from GRACE at its Annual Gala to be held on
Friday, April 24, 2009, at The Excelsior Grand, Staten Island, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Richmond County Savings Foundation is an organization commit-
ted to supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the
local community; it was envisioned as a continuation of Richmond County
Savings Bank's charitable programs which date back to 1886; and
WHEREAS, This illustrious organization proudly supports charitable
organizations whose programs and services advance educational opportu-
nity, enrich cultural development and strengthen health and human
services; and
WHEREAS, Richmond County Savings Foundation has been a partner with
the Staten Island community for the past 11 years; throughout its
distinguished history it has been a strong supporter of GRACE, an organ-
ization dedicated to serving children impacted by Autism Spectrum Disor-
der; and
WHEREAS, The accomplishments of the Richmond County Savings Foundation
can be witnessed in the capital projects it has supported that offer
depth and dimension to the community, the programs it has funded that
offer choices and services, and most importantly, the people it has
partnered with who offer hope; and
WHEREAS, The success enjoyed by the Richmond County Savings Foundation
is in direct correlation to the efforts of countless individuals and
volunteers who have supported the development of the organization over
the years; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Richmond County Savings Foundation upon the occasion of receiv-
ing the Community Service Award from GRACE; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Richmond County Savings Foundation.
