LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Michael Mordus of the Village of
Hamilton Police Department upon the occasion of his designation for
special honor by Madison County

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and honor
those distinguished officers and citizens who devote themselves to
public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing
for the care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this
great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their exem-
plary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, The abuse of alcohol and driving-while-intoxicated are seri-
ous concerns of all New York State residents; the consequences of alco-
hol misuse can have severe effects not only on the individual but on the
family and community as well; they are serious and in many cases, life-
threatening to the abuser and innocent citizens alike; and
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and applaud those among us who diligently work to address this
problem and make their community a better place to live; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Michael Mordus
of the Village of Hamilton Police Department upon the occasion of his
designation for special commendation by Madison County in recognition of
his outstanding record of DWI arrests in 2008; and
WHEREAS, Michael Mordus has distinguished himself by his exemplary
achievement and exceptional performance on behalf of the community he so
faithfully and courageously serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend such outstanding law enforcement officers as Michael Mordus for
their valued contributions, publicly acknowledging them for their
commitment and dedication to preserving the quality and fabric of life;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Michael Mordus of the Village of Hamilton Police Department upon
the occasion of his designation for special honor by Madison County; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael Mordus.
